    FF/PaleMoon 'Run' Installer Like IE

Internet Explorer has this behavior: If I want a certain program it gives me the choice to save it OR 'run' it. I choose 'run' the majority of the time because I don't need the setup/installer file on my machine. I cannot figure out to have Firefox or Pale Moon have this behavior, so I fire-up IE for this purpose. Is it possible for these other browsers to do this?

    -thx

So which browser are you using FF or Pale Moon? I can get you an extension to add the Run function to the downloads window but you can only download it in PM.

EDIT: Ok you can try OpenDownloadČ 4.1.2 from here:
    OpenDownload2

If you want the last version "OpenDownloadČ 4.2.0" then you will have to install Justoffs:
"Classic Add-ons Archive 2.0.1" into Pale Moon from here:
    Releases . JustOff/ca-archive . GitHub
    and search within the archive.

    Read the sig.
Have been using PM since early 2011.

The classic addons archive Was installed in my FF 52.9 esr until Mozillas fiasco with extensions. Until they release the promised patch for versions below 60.x esr then it wont work in FF.

OK - I have Pale Moon on-board with the 'run' option, thx! I am running FF Quantum so if I understand you correctly I will have to wait on FF before I can have the 'run' function there?

billmcct, I have an off-topic question. I have just started using PM as a FF backup for now but may eventually make it my goto browser. My reasoning (please tell me if it's flawed) is that the task manager only displays one process and low cpu as opposed to multiple FF processes that seem to match the tab count. This was also why I dumped Chrome as it also had multiple processes even when only one tab was present. I now avoid as much as possible IE, though it never goes more than 2 processes, for some reason (probably a past windows update) those processes remain running when I terminate/close IE. Whoah, that was a bit much - now to the question ...

When I imported my FF bookmarks all came along, including the BM toolbar and other subfolders. Before I did this I noticed the presence of a PM bm toolbar. I cannot figure out how to display my original imported FF bm toolbar in place of the PM one. How, if possible, to do?

    -thx

If your using Quantum then none of the older XUL addons will work if I am thinking right. Only in FF 56 and back. I only keep FF 52.9 ESR on my system as a backup browser. I haven't used IE since it's creation because it was intergrated to the OS and I never thought of that as a good idea. Using IE bad players had a direct link to your system when IE was connected to the internet.
Pale Moon doesn't use multi processing as FF does, therefore only one process in task manager. Another reason I use PM.

You can save the XPIs from the archive in PM and drag them into FF Quantum and test to see if they will work but as far as I know FF after v56 dropped all support for XUL.

How did you get the bookmarks from FF into PM. Did you export from FF in HTML format? If so go back and do a Backup and then restore them into PM.

I don't know if they have made a web extension for Open Download. You can check AMO.

Did this, but still do not know how to replace the Pale Moon BM toolbar with my original FF BM toolbar. I tried renaming the FF BM toolbar to 'My Toolbar' but no joy. -thx

I'm confused. Do you mean that there are no bookmarks in the PM bookmarks toolbar or your trying to make PMs bookmark toolbar look like FFs? If you have two toolbars showing in the bookmarks manager you will need to move the bookmarks from the Ff toolbar folder to the Pm bookmarks toolbar.

Glad you got it working. Please use the PM forums for future support. There are many helpful folks there including myself.
