Missing Inbox sub folders in Outlook 2007

I used to have several important Inbox subfolders where I would save important items.

Now the dropdown list of all the Outlook folders shows No Inbox subfolders whatsoever.

I also tried restoring outlook.pst from several backup going back 2-3 months but they show the same thing.

Is there any Outlook setting that hides the subfolders that would bring them back?

Are the Inbox subfolders stored somewhere separate from the outlook.pst?

Have you had a look in the Deleted Items folder, also check in Deleted Items for any sub folders. If they are there you can drag them to where you want them.

Instead of having items you want to keep in your Inbox under sub folders, it is safer to set up a new Folder & call it something like Emails to Keep. By doing it that way you are less likely to inadvertently delete something.

    Ranger4,

    Thanks for the info.
I think I accidentally overwrote it earlier in the year.

I found an old backup from late last year and was able to restore the .pst file.

    Have a good week,
