Getting ads after changing Firefox security setting

I noticed that in Enhanced Tracking, none had been selected. After I clicked in Standard, now I can see ads on some sites that previously were blank areas. The box for block popup is checked. Is there any way to revert this choice or a way to block seeing these distracting ads?

Hi debodun,
Clicking standard enables normal page loading. I have strict enabled and use
uBlock Origin – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)

Note about using Disconnect with other filtering add-ons like Adblock Plus: Disconnect is compatible with other filtering add-ons, but if you want Disconnect to show blocking info, uninstall then reinstall any other filtering add-ons you have (i.e., Disconnect must be added first).
Disconnect – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)
Disconnect was named the best privacy tool by the New York Times (2016), Innovation Award winner for Best Privacy and Security software at South by Southwest (2015), listed as one of the 100 best innovations of the year by Popular Science and one of the 20 best Chrome extensions by Lifehacker.
▪ Load the pages you go to up to 44% faster and save up to 39% bandwidth.
▪ Stop tracking by thousands of third-party sites.
Disconnect is open-source, pay-what-you-want software.

I was hoping it was as simple as just reversing or disabling ETP so none of the choices are selected. I found the instructions below on a Mozilla site (attachemnt2), but they mention a switch, which I don't see when I look at the ETP choices (attachment 1).

The tracking protection is accessed through the shield in the left corner of the address bar. If you click on it you see the info in the image you uploaded.
Mine is turned on

May b try uninstalling and reinstalling firefox or

reset to default

Click the menu icon, then click on “Help”. Click on Firefox's main menu button, represented by three horizontal lines. ...
Click “Troubleshooting Information”. ...
Click on “Refresh Firefox” ...
Confirm. ...
Click “Finish”.

The shield is just for individual pages. I just want to restore the settings to before I clicked on Standard ETP.

Will resetting Firefox to default keep bookmarks and cookies?

Sorry, but this topic is against forum rules

13) No ad blocking discussions. This site depends on ads to pay for the costs of running and maintaining it.

Nothing you discussed was really a major issue, but we have to be consistent
