Firefox - Task Bar

Hi friends,

Until few days ago, when I right clicked my taskbar FF, I had option to open last visited page or open new private window etc.... - have had this for years now. Accidentally, I selected FF to unpin from the taskbar.

So, I went to Mozilla folder in program files & selected FF to pin to task bar.

Now ever since this has hppd, I can see only 2 options when I right click FF from task bar - Firefox, Unpin the program from the taskbar.

Can someone guide me on how I can get my old mode back, I used to open private window directly earlier - now I have to open FF & then open private window - which I don't like to, in general.

Hello Goodlad,

If you open the Start Menu , type into the searchbox, the name of the program, and when the program shows in the search results, right-mouse click it, and select Unpin from taskbar from the list.

When done, then you want to add an Address Toolbar.

Right-mouse clck blank space on Taskbar, select Properties, then select Toolbar Tab and tick the Address checkbox.

Now you will be able to enter a web address from the Taskbar.

You can also add an web address by creating a shortcut.

In a blank space on any folder, right-mouse click and select new from dropdown list.

Under Type name of location copy and paste the Web Address then click Next. Give the shortcut a name and click Finnish when done.

Another way is to create a new shortcut to Firefox, and edit that shortcut Properties > Target edit the Target Field add -url followed by the website you want the pinned link to navigate to.
Once this is done, click OK, and then right-mouse click the shortcut and select Pin to Taskbar .

Thank Iko, appreciate it :)

Actually my query was not adding a specified website into task bar but adding FF icon to the taskbar.

I was able to fix it myself though. This is what I did (may help someone in future, if they have similar issue):

1. I had to first unpin FF from taskbar.
2. Open FF
3. Right click any of the FF open window from task bar & select "Pin this program to taskbar", second option from the bottom.

voila! it works. Now I can open private window without opening FF regular window directly from any point.
