    Google chrome won't download

Chrome was my default browser. The desktop icons quit working. This has happened in the past and I uninstalled Chrome and reinstalled it and the icons worked again. This time I uninstalled it and now it won't reinstall. I go to Chrome's download page, click on the install button and nothing happens.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Try this direct download -> Ninite one click Chrome Installer. Installs Chrome in default location. I use Ninite Installers quit often, clean, no crap. you can also use the installer(s) to update too!

Snick, were the Ninites in the old Testament or were they instrumental in helping the Borg against Species 8472?
Anyway, those Chrome download links are very welcome!

You need to use Revouninstaller to clear it all out next time.

And if Chrome messes up, wipe its cache and cookies, etc. Clear cache & cookies - Computer - Google Account Help

You might be interested in Ungoogled Chromium, but as soon as you add an extension it will call back to Google. Downloads for ungoogled-chromium

As always, scan all downloads at Virus Total.

    You're welcome.
FYI: Any Ninite Installer you download, they can be multiple apps within the installer, when you click on the installer again, it updates all the apps included in the installer.

As I said, I have used Ninite for quite a while, no crapware, etc. I agree fantastic.

Glad that worked for you and you posted that it did!

    Happy Computing!

After reading the OP's post again, it seems like there may be an issue with stub installers. Does Firefox's stub installer run?
