Running an anti-virus? That'll jack things up for you in the certificate department.

You say pretty much every machine? What's different in the computers that do work?

What do the certificate errors say? Can you post the detailed message you're getting?
These will say the real reason of why they're rejected, and hint on a solution. Otherwise we're just guessing.

Nowadays having an antivirus installed is more a security vulnerability rather than a solution

Coming from you -- your words are golden apples upon a silver platter. Please tell me more!
On my two Windows 7 Pro laptops at home, I have Malwarebytes AM, SUPERAntiSpyware, SpywareBlaster [host file]. Because I do not run into certificate issues, please help me learn more about this problem, thanks! BTW, I do have W7-MSE & W7-WD enabled as on-demand scanners only.
