So, last Chrome update apparently came in bundled with some kind of warning bar that pops up every time you launch Chrome saying "To get future Google Chrome Updates, you'll need to update to Win10. Your Computer is using Win7.". Is there any way to get rid of that? I remember there was once such a bar in WinXP/Vista with the same function, but I don't remember how I disabled it.
I received the same pop up saying they are no longer supporting W7. Anyone know of a good alternative browser?
This is my "Chrome" browser. I use multiple browsers. That version I leave plain vanilla without any extensions.
Having said that. Try that and see if the BS message disappears. Note you'll have to manually update -- Oh no! What's that? Be sure to back up your bookmarks. If you are stuck in the Chrome/Google ecosphere, Ungoogled Chrome may not be for you...

I've got a bit more time to look at this now; what are the risks from having a non updated browser? Would your AV protect you?
I've had a look at Brave, which I may download and try but it seems pointless if all browsers are going to withdraw their support for W7 as I've read in some articles.
Will AV protect you? No, and no.
AV NEVER "protects" you and a browser CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) will own (pwn) you regardless of what anti-virus you're running.
To be concise, anti-virus software now-a-days has been nothing short of a joke with overzealous and unnecessary fudge bloat. Not to mention the product DOES intercept your browser traffic and probably sends that back to AV headquarters. It has to in order to see if traffic over a TLS/"SSL" encrypted connections is laced with malware or not. Your anti-virus is in fact a man in the middle. Then anti-virus software is mostly definition based anyway. It WILL NOT stop a zero day.
This is why I use Sandboxie classic for my browser along with uBlock Origin to help mitigate malvertising and virus laced domains.
There's a program in Kali Linux that will own your browser. The hack is called session hijacking. Your AV will not stop that. That's just one browser vulnerability. Another is if the browser is not patched to mitigate a certain malicious JS code or what ever. Again, AV won't protect you. As it is JS expletive can do some cool (IMO) stuff...
