    Popup Ads in Chrome

Is there anyway to turn on Ad Blocking in Windows 7, Google Chrome. I was able to do it in Windows 10, but the same procedure does NOT work in Windows 7.

I don't really want to download and install Ad Blocker software.

    Thanks for any help.

What procedure did you follow on Windows 10 that didn't work on Win7? The Windows version shouldn't matter really when it comes to Chrome, it'll work the same way in either case.

Normally, when we're talking about blocking ads, it means some sort of ad-blocker plugin for the browser.

    Hi

i was under the impression these settings originally only related to IE in W7, not sure if they then worked for Edge when it was it introduced, never used Edge

The "Internet Options" control panel applet is actually the IE settings dialog, which controlled this browser and maybe a few other programs using Windows connectivity options. Chrome won't obey or even know about those settings.

Maybe in Windows 10 it's a leftover of the times when IE existed and where Edge was actually IE12, but when it was degradeed to be a Chrome-clone it followed its own configuration.

Look in the browser settings for something related, but ultimately, if you want to be safe from ads in the web, you need an ad-blocker plugin.

Alejandro85, To me the procedure looks the same for Win 7 and Win 10. There are not as many popup on Edge as in Chrome.

The procedure did NOT work for either one.

WELL, no matter what I do, I still get ad pop ups and they only occur on Google Chrome.

I wonder are these push notification spam and not popups.

Next time you got one of these popups, can you take a screenshot of it and post it here?
