    Google Translate

I have been using google page translate (the extension) on Edge for a long time, but recently the small translation box pops up which states that "this page could not be translated". On my Chrome or CC browser, it works.

Is there a fix for this as I have tried numerous Google-based extensions with all the same error? Perhaps this is due to still using Win7? Is there possibly a better translator than google?

The same thing is happening to me with Microsoft Edge, and like something can't translate web pages anymore, instead with Firefox I have no problem, I even downloaded the extension made by them to translate web pages, and it works correctly.

inquiring on the internet I found out why microsoft edge is no longer able to translate web pages in the old versions of the browser, the old versions to translate web pages used a dictionary-based algorithm, from the new versions of microsoft edge instead now uses artificial intelligence to translate web pages, obviously this feature is not available on windows 7 and 8.1, I guess on Google Chrome will be the same situation.

Thanks for the info, looks like the extension will be deleted...
Don't really like Edge AI search, so won't be using their translator--for now. At least the other browsers work, although the old Edge had the advantage of automatically translating pages.

That's not the same format of translator, this is google's translate site, which is fine. It is the automatic/manual translate of a complete web page that is the problem.

    One solution

I found a way to translate on the Edge browser:

1-Go to Edge settings and open "Languages" and turn off "Offer to translate pages that aren't the language I read". Delete any translation extensions.

2-Go to Edge Add Ons (from icon on toolbar) and install "Online Translator". To translate a complete page, right-click "translate page" and Google appears on top and translates page. If just want a selection, highlight and small "Online Translator icon" appears, click on that.
