SOLVED! 2024 Supported Browser for Windows 7

Due to chrome no longer supporting Win7, I am now getting error codes for my streaming channels that videos cannot be played (Paramount+, CBS, Amazon Prime Video to name a few). HOWEVER, Youtube videos play flawlessly, no error codes there. I found info on Supermium, and though it downloaded, extracted and I clicked "Install", I could not find where it actually installed. I appreciate your help as I have no desire to upgrade to the latest Windows OS.

For now, Firefox ESR is the best solution.

Switch to Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) for personal use | Firefox Help

Another trick: install the extension called User Agent Switcher. It fools websites into thinking you are on windows 10. It doesn't always work but sometimes it does.

Were you using the portable version (via portableapps.com) or the installable version (via github)? If the latter, you might try the portable version instead. It extracts to just a folder with no other changes to your PC, so if you try it and it doesn't meet your needs you can simply toss the folder, no harm done.

Download from portableapps.com and place on your desktop. Double-click to launch and it will extract itself to a folder. During this so-called "installation" phase, watch to make sure it "installs" to your desktop and not buried somewhere else on your hard drive. When extracted, open the folder it put on your desktop and launch the SupermiumPortable.exe launcher.

As mentioned, if it doesn't meet your needs you just delete the folder from your desktop, and nothing needs to be "uninstalled".

But if you do like it, you'll probably want to move the folder to somewhere else instead of leaving it on your desktop, and then just create a shortcut to the exe launcher and place the shortcut on your desktop or Start Menu.

Supermium 126 pretends to be Chrome 126 running on Windows 10, which is enough to fool most websites that don't like Win 7 anymore. But some web services use java applets to sniff out the real underlying OS, so if that's what any of your streaming services are doing then Supermium won't help, and neither will Firefox ESR with the "User Agent Switcher" extension. For those, you're just out of luck.
