    Mail Account Settings

    Hi Guys,

Just upgraded to W7 from Vista (courtesy of Acer).

During the upgrade, my email accounts settings were automatically transferred and seem to work OK but the name of one of my accounts has lost the first letter. I have tried to find my way into the settings to do a manual check but I need to be pointed in the right direction.

    Any volunteers?

Hi Ronaar, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Which mail client you are using? Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, Thunderbird?

In lieu of a better answer, did you consider opening a new account with the correct name and just transferring your mail etc. to the new account?

    Thanks for your welcome Kari.

I am using Windows live mail which is now part of windows.

Not too sure about it but I intend to give it a fair chance.

    Thanks for your reply Richard.

I think that would have been too easy, but on second thoughts I would have had to discover how to transfer the mail.

Exactly what I expected to find but I do not have a Tools menu option in WLMail.

Has my update gone wrong somewhere.

Click on the Menus button, just to the left of the Help button (blue with question mark). In the drop-down, click on Show menu bar.

    Well done Jekeesl,

You came to the rescue about the same time I found the devil.

I hope this thread will help others like myself.

    Thanks to all.
