Question about Windows Live email - help !

Greetings from an American in Japan .

My new HP Touchsmart 300 ( Japanese ) arrived the other day and my wife set it up yesterday . All is well , but I have a question re : Windows Live Mail . On my old Fujitsu with XP , the email was set up in such a way that no emails could be viewed unless one clicked on the mail , and opened it manually . With 7 Live the contents of the mail are automatically displayed on the right side and I'm afraid that someday mail with a virus attached will come along and it'll be too late to stop it from infecting my computer . Is there a setting that will prevent this ? How do I go about changing this setting ? I am not a techie , obviously , plus I'm dealing with a Japanese computer ( planning on upgrading to Ultimate soon so I can operate in English ) . Any help appreciated .

    open live mail.

    it in the menu
    under layout

you can get to the menu by using the alt key and the m key
hold down the ALT key and hit the M key

    hope this helps

    Thanks very much !

Once I install Windows Ultimate I'll be able to operate in English and hopefully be able to figure out a lot more stuff on my own .

    Best regards ...
