Firefox user for years. No other browser comes close for me. I do use the Mozilla Minefield releases of Firefox...which are usually extremely fast as well.

i ticked 'other', but i nearly ticked 'chrome'...

...that's because lately i've been using chromeplus, a modified version of chrome, with a very handy 'open in ie tab' feature, and a coupla other little mods...

(oh, and safari sux, semi-officially. )

old school - IE8. I was in Silicon Valley during the browser wars - anyone remember the "blink" tag in Netscape?

Yes I do. Netscape was my favorite for many years. I remember it introduced tabbed browsing too. I used that until IE5 came out when many government and corporate networks mandated the use of IE, and Netscape faded away.

I tried FF when it came out (Back? Arose from ashes?) and thought it fine, but stuck with IE more out of principle than anything. I was tired of many of my collegues in the industry, the IT media, FF fanboys and the MS/Gates bashers telling everyone they were unsafe if using IE. I STILL see that today on many forums and media sites and it is just as untrue today, as then. Without exception, I have always been able to stop those arguements in their tracks by asking one simple question - Did you stop getting infected simply by switching from IE to FF? Of course, no one said yes because whether using FF, IE, Opera, etc. they were also using a firewall, an AV, kept their systems updated, and avoided risky behaviors - necessary safe computing practices, regardless the browser of choice.

Just because a browser has a vulnerability does not mean it is (1) exposed or (2) exploitable.

Yes, IE7 was initially buggy, and IE8 has had some site compatibility issues too - but I note that is mostly due to IE8, the first IE to comply with "web" standards, and not Microsoft's standards, running into sites tweaked to old MS standards to make browsing with IE6 look nicer. But I have not had to use "compatibility mode" for some time on any site I visit.

So, back on topic, I use IE8 on all my systems (XP and Win7).

Beyond those reasons stated above that I moved to FF over IE, the other reason I like FF right now is because of styling ability, I can make it conform to my desktop theme much easier than IE, unless they've introduced some new style features that I don't know of.

Been using Chrome since it came out.
I like the fact that Chrome is light and fast.

IE8 when I have to.
Don't like all the added features of IE8 that I mostly never use.

Use to use FF, but not much anymore.

Nones posting love for Opera

I really love opera for my uses, its like cars for everyone.
I like Its speed dial feature and tabbed browsing and if i close and open all my sites are there again. Also I LOVE I LOVE right clicking, hold, then left clicking to move back a page and vice versa. A really useful thing. Besides that iffy deal that I have to go open a page in dreaded IE8 for school and to use feeds to let it go into Windows Live Mail.

I have tired Firefox and its always crashing on me that it just pisses me off so bad, I have no idea what is wrong with it. It used to be good before, now it feels bloated which i think is its add-ons style. Also, having to click [save tabs] before quitting -_-

Safari- Same, no tab save feature fused in without adding something different.

Chrome-I am wanting features of Opera before I move, but it is fast for what it is.
