Mysterious update of .eml files SOLVED!

Solved!!! By a suggestion from Mr. Spigolo, on the Microsoft Support site.

Simply remove the .eml extension from the Indexing Options Advanced page,

in the Control Panel! It DOES work!

    Thanks, Mr. Spigolo!

    R-Click\Open File Location...delete your files :-)

    hi,
    Found this at...

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...8-97bd0c0196bc

Tried it... works... it works!... at least for me.
    Win7Pro-64bit; older laptop; etc..

Will update details on my PCs, now that I see the importance of others needing to know.

I also had this issue, and was also able to fix the problem by clearing the personal details in the file properties details tab. If this is happening because it is being indexed or scanned, I missed why. I can use the command prompt to move the file, but Ctrl-X, Right click and Cut, Move, Drag + Ctrl, none of those work to move the file until you clear the properties. It would be interesting to me to see a binary diff of a file that right clicking does work on and one that it does not, but for now I've wasted enough time on this weirdness.

    Hi Mogojohn

I came across this problem yesterday
I found that if I right click on the the .eml file and select "open file location" the documents open in a new window and when I right click on the same .eml file "delete" is an option
    regards
