    IE 8 Crashes!

    Hi all,

I have all the major 4 browsers installed in my lappy. Occasionally I use IE8 for my inhouse application. But in recent times, I am encountering a strange issue.

I tried to bookmark my application link in IE and the moment I click on Bookmark, IE Crashes. I tried disabling some toolbars and addons, no luck. Tried opening IE ith no addons, no luck. Now, the moment I launch IE, it crashes.

Googled, tried all possible steps, but nothing works.

Next try, re-install IE8. Any other suggestions?

Definately, before an install try System Restore and even System Image

    Was the repetition necessary? :P

My gudness, 4 replies/suggestions within 10 minutes? AWESOME!!!

I have tried resetting it. Couldnt try system restore, cos do not know from when this issue is happening.

Should I scan the C drive?

BTW, tried re-installing IE8, but MS site doesnt have one for Win 7. Tried, Vistas, but got a msg not compatible.

Update 1: IE8 crashes now with no addons too.
    Update 2: Running sfc now.

This is a long shot, but go to search. Type in Turn off. From there go to turn windows features on and off. Turn off IE. Shut down, boot up and then restore it. Sometimes these long shots are the ones that work.

Windows Features - Turn On or Off

^^ I got this info from MS and tried the same. But IE is no where mentioned in there.

    What's wrong?

I believe this did the trick. Now I am able to use IE and also the favorites work.

Note: Your suggestion removed my custom start orb, icons and patched system files.
