thanks but i really dont want to add a toolbar, just want things to work as they should.

going back to my previous post I am still logged in here after resetting and restarting IE8. How can that be?
Reset does not affect cookies. You have to do a clean disk for that.

How do I do a clean disk?
    Go to computer icon

    click on it

    right click on c drive

    click on properties

click on clean disc or something similiar. You will find it not that much there. Must warn you though. It is selective in what it deletes. It is suppose to delete only what is not needed, to make room on the HD. If you want to use the function in the future, to clean your drive, but do not want cookies for forums etc to be erased come back and I will tell you.

Did you also do a system clean up? The option is on the bottom left of the screen, where you choose what to clean.

If that does not work, I have to assume that clean disc, does not remove any cookies. I know it did in Vista, because there was an option that allowed me to keep the cookies that I wanted.

If that does not work, we know it is not the cookies. I will get you another solution, then.

If this does not work, I am out of ideas. Set up another account or go to another one that is set up. Adminstrator or Standard, but not the same as you are in now. If this works Ill tell you how to transfer everything to the new account.
