    Cannot View Web Pages

I recently started to experience issue browsing the internet. I am connected, however neither IE nor Firefox will display webpages, I simply get the "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server..."/"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" pages.
I get responses when I ping websites, and I have no issues accessing the iTunes store. I tried disabling the firewall but it didn't help at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a network hub or router?
Are you on cable, DSL or ?

Sounds like you have an issue with your hub security

Several things to try in this order

If you are on a network look into that as suggested above

Turn off your A/V and firewall

In an administrators account type cmd in search. In the cmd box type sfc /scannow

In an adminstrators account,in search type cmd. In cmd type ipconfig /flushdns

If these steps do not work try a system restore from before the problem. You will be up and running.

Before trying any of my advice. Make a systemrestore of your OS. If things go wrong you want to be able to restore.

    Welcome iwishiwuzskiing.

I would simply say try ipconfig /flushdns

Also when you ping, try with the IP address as well as the domain name.

I felt, the more poster tries the better the chances.

I didn't get any results from the /flushdns or sfc /scannow so i just restored, and now everything is back to normal.
    Thanks for all the help!
