Firefox W7 x64 Quicktime issue

The only way I can make Quicktime or QT Lite work with Firefox on W7 x64 is to use the compatibility trick, but under 3.6b5, this trick disables the W7 thumbnail support.

Does anyone know an alternative player that will stream QT stuff, or a way to make QT Lite work without the controls being black? Without compat. mode?

I also have this issue. I tried installing VLC, but Quicktime remained default and I cant change it.
Anyone have a solution?
