funky characters

I'm getting some strange characters when certain web pages load. Mostly, they're in place of punctuation and look like a little diamond with a tiny question mark in the middle.

I know this has to do with the character encoding, and I found the list from which I can choose my default, but the problem is, I'm not sure what the default should be.

This is one of the pages it shows up on:
Elegant Victorian Inn nestled on a hill top in Ohio’s Amish Country

Experience an extraordinary Ohios Amish Country Getaway at The Inn at Amish Door.

See what I'm talking about in the word Ohio's?

It doesn't happen on all pages, just sometimes.

    Help? Anyone have any advice?

Wish, those specs are old. I just got a new computer and should change them. Thanx for the reminder.

Till they are updated, these are my new specs:

HP® Official Store — Buy the HP G71-340us Notebook PC, Black and Silver direct from HP

Seeker, I tried your settings, but they didn't work for me, either. How frustrating.

I did just check the page in IE, and it was fie. Weird. Must be a FF setting. I seem to remember changing this once before on my last computer, but for the life of me, I don't know how. Wish, I will definitely download the latest update to FF, though it just went through a series of updates automatically a few days ago, and the version above is the one that I ended up with. I'll have to go to directly to the site instead of relying on the auto updates. Thanx.
