    hp office jet 6480 & windows 7

What a nice suprise to find I can't print because HP hasn't come up with a driver yet. I mean 2 months?

I seriously would have to consider my purchase again if I knew this. There are three other people who were depending on this and now everyone is down.

Is there a work around? I contacted HP and they were no help. Said I would have to wait. I tried the hooking up of a USB cable to download a driver in Windows 7 and that didn't work.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jim

Easy problem Go to Hp site. Download the Vista Driver (correct 32 or 64 bit) to documents..
Then go to your documents and right click, compatiablity mode.

Make sure your printer is off and not attached to computer. Then download. Turn on computer when asked.

Shut off computer and boot up. It should work.

If not try the same thing with XP. Be very sure that all old drivers are completely removed. Use ccleaner.

We will get it to work, dont worry.

it worked but not the way you said. when i went to do the install after extracting the driver, i got the system not correct error. i shut off the printer and removed any connection before extracting. i rebooted, turned on the printer after reconnecting and than rebooted again. probably wasn't necessary, but bottom line, it works now.
thanks again. i'll let you know if it fails again. hopefully the correct driver will be available before the next millenium!
