    For Any Thunderbird Users.

    Hello,

Using the latest version of Thunderbird.
Seems to work just fine, except-

If I send an Attachment that is desktop shortcut e.g., to a WORD text document, no problem. It sends it just fine.

However, if I have a shortcut on my Desktop that goes to a web page, it will not send it, if I try to send it (the shortcut) as an Attachment.

It does show in the Attachment window, as it should, prior to trying to send.
    Just keeps grinding away.

Under Options/Format when I am composing an e-mail, I do have "Plain and Rich (HTML) Text" selected. But this doesn't seem to be the answer.

My Outlook Express on my old PC had no problems with this.

I tried the Mozilla Thunderbird Help Forum, but their log-In Server must be messed up, and I just can't get in to ask, or allowed to re-register.

This certainly isn't any major problem as I can always just send the actual Link in the e-mail, but it is annoying.

Any idea why, or what I might have configured incorrectly ?

    Thanks,
    Bob

I use Tbird 3.0 and don't send shortcuts to anybody, but just tried it and it worked.

    Here is what I did:

Made a desktop shortcut to Wikipedia.

Right clicked it and chose send to and mail recipient.

    Tbird then popped open.

I entered my own address as the recipient.

Clicked send and it went out immediately and it was received immediately.

Did you use that sequence of steps or something else?

I sent myself a jpg in exactly the same way.
