    IE 8 Search provider

Whenever I click on Internet Explorer, my homepage pops up and then a box pops up and tells me that " A program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider settings for Internet Explorer". It happens all the time. Is there any way to stop this? I want to change it from Bink to Google, but it will not let me.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hello computerlover,

Welcome to Seven Forums. Are you doing this through 'manage search providers' on the search drop down? Works here fine. Is this a recent problem or long standing. Virus/malware scan wouldn't hurt anything.

As suggested, do a virus scan using your own A/V. Then download this and try again

    Malwarebytes.org

It is my thought that you do have a virus. If you did not, already get the, above, sage

advice, I would have told you to do a virus scan, too.

If the scan shows nothing, my next step would be to attempt a repair.

Try the easy one first: From an administrators account type cmd in search. When you find cmd

right click, the run as administrator then enter. From cmd type this sfc /scannow. If it finds

some errors try it 2 more times

If that does not work, try this

    Repair Install[2]=General Tips

    Good luck
