Livestream upload being blocked by W7

I upload videos to Livestream.com which is a flash website. It worked ok with
vista. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate and now when I upload a 380mb it claims
to be done in less than one min. Not so. Livestream tech has checked everything
from connection speed to browser to video file format. Now they say it may be
my network settings and to open port 80 and 1935. Can this even be done without
opening the door to attacks. They also want me to turn off all firewalls. It's a
windows 7 problem, I have no problems with xp pro and livestream but I like to
keep my work station off the internet. Can anyone help with the network settings?

I can't help much, except to say that port 80 is the one used by browsers on http, so that shouldn't be too risky. Port 1935 appears to be a port used by Macromedia Flash.

I don't use the Windows firewall, so I can't help with any settings in it, but regardless of what the Livestream Tech said, you need a firewall, be it Windows or some other.
