    Thankyou for your succinct answer!
The best answer (as a newbie) is that when I click on a supplied email address (usually in blue) supplied by a firm on their home page or elswhere (in this case Disktrix support) I am told that my "default mail client is not properly installed" and that's it - no email is available! This occurs every time with all such supplied addresses. I use both Gmail and Hotmail.
I cannot find (in my new win 7 home edition 64bit OS any way of correcting that problem.
    please help.
thankyou.(at 77 yo I need a little help from time to time)

Hi ian J and Welcome to SevenForums

If you have a Hotmail acct you already have a live ID, just log in to Win Live Essentials and there's a number of progs you can dl one of which is Windows Live Mail, just dl that and set up your email in it. You can have all your acct's set right in one place. If you need more help doing this just come back and we will help set it up.
