Browser Battle: Firefox 3 Vs Internet Explorer 8

Firefox v3.0.7 is one of the best browsers out there to me and will be along time from now, until something like it can make me say WOW! But for the Ray of Extensions out there how can any one say no and every PowerUser should know about:config, so let us know what is your best browser ?

Firefox solely due to extensions. Safari 4's better in my opinion however there are not many add ins I found when it is installed on Windows.

pfft... only good thing about Opera is standards compliance which is slightly better than FF3 and pretty much on par with FF3.1 and Webkit. And maybe Opera Mini. Try extending Opera with its crappy widget and add on system or write such add ons and you see how bad it is. There is a reason it's market share is so low.

I keep trying opera but never get into it. Its mostly down to how theyve implemented their widgets.

Atm Im using IE8, mainly for windows live toolbar's feature to sync favorites with skydrive. If theres an addon that can do that in firefox then Id switch. Id also dont like how firefox handles rss feeds. I much rather prefer the central feed system that IE uses.

Me to I don't like the way Firefox 3 handles RSS feeds and for opera what can I say a browser just made for one thing surfing the web, Opera 9.6 Diehard Opera fans might take exception to referring to Opera as an alternative browser, and with the release of 9.6, they have a point. Several speed enhancements made the already fast browser even snappier, but our favorite feature is the new magazine-style RSS feeds.

When it comes to PowerUser there's only one King and that's Firefox 3. My best add-ons are Foxmarks witch is becoming Xmarks, del.icio.us, Adblock+ noscript, Gmail Manager and there's a hell of a lot more where that came from check the Browser Battle at Maximum PC Browser Battle: Nine Browsers of Today and Tomorrow Compared | Maximum PC DL Free PDF Magazines or read them at Maximum PC - Google Book Search

    Hi Swarf,

If you want to sync your bookmarks/favorites across FF3 and IE, or across machines, or OS's, and keep online copies for when your not on your own machine, have a look at foxmarks (available on the FF Add-ons site)

I love Firefox but it would be nice to have the Live toolbar available and the option to drag and drop file on the sky drive with IE is a very good feature, So basically I like both but Firefox still wins for me with all the great add-ons.

    FF3 all the way......

though i did happen to brush IE the other day & thought i'd give it a go for a while, & i gotta say its far better than it ever has been.....

if i weren't so used to the FF3 layout, i certainly wouldn't sniff my nose up at IE....
