Yeah, I have not been using a hosts file other than the default since I started using this computer, built new for Win7 in Oct. Those obnoxious banner ads are pushing me to start using one again, and Homer, along with its sister program, HostsXpert v4.3.Some 'banner' ads are obnoxious and Homer blocks them.
Either the initial app was named IEPro or was renamed to IEPro. I can't remember now which it was. I remember after the name change and update, it left the old Program Files folder intact as well as the reg entries. It's been a while since I uninstalled it for good but do think that it's last name was IEPro
That's not going to happen. There was a push to do that in the past, but someone already has the name, and domain. But more importantly, IE7Pro's extensive feature set (except for spell check) is less needed in IE8, and may signal the demise of any chance of future development. A look at all the spam on the IE7Pro Forum would suggest they have lost interest. In fact, according to this wiki page, all development has stopped.I really wish they'd just rename it to IE Pro.

And a quick look at the change logs (scroll down) shows it always was IE7Pro going all the way back initial Beta versions to v0.9.1.
As I said above and where you quoted me, there was a move to change it to IEPro when IE8 was in Beta, but the name IEPro was, and is already taken - as can be seen by going out to the IEPro website where we can see it has nothing to do with IE7Pro.
It was never "officially" called IEPro. Some of the fans may have [incorrectly] referred to it that way, but the program itself has always been IE7Pro.
I've used it for a number of years really for the spell check facility, I disabled the download manager when I installed it on my Windows 7 partition with Internet Explorer 8 although at present it is showing as the default search engine alongside the address bar.

IE7Pro works with IE8. I believe the developers of this software are soon going to re-brand it as something else so people don't mistakenly believe that it only works with IE7.

That just ruined my hopes for returning to Internet Explorer 8.Once IE7Pro was fully functional with IE8 (I heard there are still a few glitches), I was going to get it for IE8 and start using it again. Now it seems I'll have to wait for Microsoft to make Internet Explorer 9 before considering going back to Internet Explorer.
What glitches? As many of us have said, it works fine with IE8. I haven't experienced anything, but I heard other users have found glitches with IE7Pro on IE8.
Either way, it doesn't matter. I switched over to Firefox and I like it a lot more, mostly because of all the customizations I was able to do to it. IE doesn't offer the same amount of customization.
