    I will post it here so others may benefit, also. Check back tomorrow night. I want to make it all inclusive and save it for future use. I will also check to see if I can find additional documentation..

    OK, I have found what I was looking for, quickly. I follow everything in this report except maintaining the registry, that will only lead to trouble. Follow thse instructions.

    10 Tips on How to Properly Maintain Your Computer

    Steps that I did not notice on the guide include:

    Running a scan disc before doing a defrag

    Using Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes.

    Making System Restore points, at least once a week

    Makaing a system Image once a month (varies by user)

    Not relying on your A/V common sense, should prevail. You know of many sites can cause a problem.

    If you follow these instructions, you will be trouble free for a long time to come.

    Excellent!

    I saw mention of Cleaning out the Registry periodically. I "had" been using ASC (Advanced System Care), but I believe that's the program that caused this problem on my System. I used to use Norton's Utilities back in my XP days. That worked great!

    What Registry Cleaner do you recommend ?

    Also, like I mentioned in another thread, I'm searching for a User Friendly, EASY to understand BACKUP method.

    Read my whole post. I do not want, use, or believe in Reg cleaners. I just follow the other information, that I listed, and never had a problem from Windows 98 to the present.

    I have the same problem with the send command in windows live mail. I have never run a registry cleaner, have tried a clean install, have reset IE 8 to default as well as turning it off and on and a reboot. It still does not work. Emailed Microsoft and they said it is because I don't have Outlook installed. I have Outlook 2000, which is not supported and at the moment am not willing to buy 2003 or 2007. Tried installing Windows Mail from Vista as well as Thundebird and the command still does not work. Windows live mail send accelerator is also installed and default and still no send command. It is pretty sad that I have to use my notebook (XP-Outlook Express- IE 8 to forward a web page. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks;

    The correct fix

    Go to TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>PROGRAMS (tab)>INTERNET PROGRAMS>SET PROGRAMS>SET PROGRAM ACCESS AND COMPUTER DEFAULTS>CUSTOM>CHOOSE A DEFAULT EMAIL PROGRAM> and select your email program there. Make sure "Enable access to this program" is checked.
