    Trouble accessing a website

    Hey everyone,
I'm a new member... and I reeeaalllyyy need your help. My parents just got me a new laptop and it has Windows 7 on it. I'm entirely at a loss when it comes to this system... so I figured this forum looked promising. I'm having trouble accessing just this ONE website. Everytime I type in the address or even when I access it through google search, I always get a message concerning the connectivity or "broken link". I had a few friends trying going on it and they don't have this problem.

If I can get any suggestions at all that can help me out, I'll thank you all very much!

    Welcome!

What site are you trying to access? Could it be blocked by your router?

    I'm trying to access www.nipissingu.ca
I wouldn't think my router is blocking it... I was able to access it before this laptop. But now, ever since my dad shut off our internet, I haven't been able to access this site.

If it is the only site that is being blocked, I would check in the router to make sure it isn't being blocked.

I'm not sure what all is going on with your dad, but you may want to talk to him about it, and make sure he is okay with it. I just don't want to go against your dad's wishes.

You may want to check something real easy, at first. Go to tools>internet options>security. Make sure that the site is not on the blocked list.

Or the site may be temporarily down. Or has your dad installed parental filters on the laptop?

I had no problems going to the University website. It must be a permissions / security problem in your settings. Which version of Win7 do you have on the new laptop?

I can access it as well, so I suggest you try to follow the advice given above.
You can probably access the site by clicking this link right?
