    email group list

Hi, I have a new Compaq with win 7 -64 and I am trying to use win live mail. I have my old O E list of 0ver 400 names. They were broken down into sub lists of 40 or more names each one being a differant club. Now, when I try to send out an email and want to send to 40 or more people with BCC mailing I get my whole list of names and have to pick out the 40 or more that I need. This is not pleasant and I am looking for a solution. I am considering going from winlive mail to gmail, and that would be OK with me. I may do that anyway. Any ideas ?
    Thanks
    Conrad

    Welcome Conrad,

Try this Windows live mail>contacts>file>add a catagory. Is that what you need?

Hi Richard, Well that does not work. There is no group to highlite or move to the BCC line. All I get is my complete name list of hundreds of names all mixed up. I wish to see the groups I had with OE.
What email program are you using ? I think I am going to have to switch.......

Conradx, I am using WLM, just as you. I do not use that feature, but I thought that it would work. I will return if I can find a way to work with my mail.

I tried it with Windows Live Mail and it works. I went to contacts, made a list friends. Then I went to the email in BCC, I typed f and the friends list was entered. We must be miscommunicating. Do it again, this time give me step by step what you are doing.

    Good Luck.

Well my friend, first of all let me thank you for helping me. I am having no luck. It may be because a friend of mine copied my OE to a external HD using a format other than csv. Then, I am afraid that I know just enough to be dangerious to myself. I am not that well versed at this.
So I am exporting my OE list off of my old machine with XP to gmail using CSV. Then when I go to my new one and go to gmail the list is there. Gmail seems to be quite a email program and once I learn it, I think it will work out, what do you think? Maybe I could be doing the same with WLM. Conrad in Orange County CA.

Since, I know what I suggested does in fact work; I did it just to be sure, there has to be a specific cause for the problem. I think that it is your friend copying, using other than csv. Other poster have experienced problems just with the transfer, with the correct format.

I will try to research a bit more, and see if I can come up with a solution that takes into account your special situation.
