Pre-win7 mail buried too deep, not recognized

I backed up my c drive before upgrading to Win 7. After downloading Windows Live Mail (which I don't like) I used the import button to bring in all my pre-upgrade email files...........and then I couldn't find them for days! Finally I've located them in weird sub folders way under the storage folder and a couple of layers below the imported and local folders. Whew! How did this happen? So my question is how can I bring these up to be recognized by Win Live Mail? Now they are just those numbered .eml files and can't be identified. What can I do to bring these up into the real Live Mail program? Thanks!

I too had problems with WLM and decided to delete it. Not easy! It took a while. I booted out all MSN live applications as too intrusive and flaky. IE 8 is still asking me every day if it can install, even though it is already installed! Dumb software!

As I had used windows Mail for years and had over 8 gig of emails stored, I decided to revert to Windows Mail under Win 7. Also not easy.

Luckily I had upgraded over Vista to Win 7 and then re-installed Vista on a separate drive. So I had a dual boot system.

I noticed all of Windows Mail was still present under Win 7 but the executable, Windows Mail.exe, had been disabled. So Ideleted it and copied the executable over from the Vista drive, after first backing up all email folders on both drives.
Win 7 took exception to a desktop shortcut to Windows Mail and I had to pin it to the bottom bar, or it would disappear every time I used it.

It has been stable for a month now, until this week when I had a corrupted message stuck in my inbox.
I know, in Vista, you can get rid of these with KB941090 but unfortunately Microsoft does an OS check before installing and tells me it is not suitable for this Win 7 operating system and refuses the instal.

OK, OK, I know I am outside the Pale as far as MS are concerned but, I fail to see why life should be made so difficult for those that don't want to be led by the nose by the great MS.

How do I shift this one message from my in box?

You should see them in the imported folders towards the bottom on the left. Then you should be able to just drag and drop them into your inbox.

Thanks for that "drag and drop" suggestion. I'll try that later when not working.

Once again a couple of days ago, I imported several thousand .eml files into WLM but only a few actually showed up in my imported files folder. Where did they go? Some of them showed up but only 5% to 10% are there. I'm totaly mystified by this goofy requirement foisted on us by MS for upgrading to their new OS. Why?

Anybody have any ideas for this problem? Thanks in advance.
