what issue? i did not say nor imply that i was having problems. once every 6 months i reinstall windows. i wipe my c drive at least 3 times and do a fresh install of everything. i would like to be able to simply package ff, my add-ons, and my tweaks so when i go to install it in the freshly install os i do not have to reinstall all of my add-ons and preform all of my tweaks.
In that case, use the add-on FEBE. Its a FF back-up application. It backs up everything: profiles, bookmarks, etc. When you do the new install, install FEBE, then recover from your back up file and you are done.

is this actually stable now. i tried it a while back and it had some problems.

I built a new system last month and used it to get FF up and running on my new rig. I believe I had FF 3.5.6 at the time. Worked perfectly for me.

going by this my about:config tweaks will not be backed-up. nor does it say anything about bookmarks.

i went to the creators site the info there says i should be able to do what i want.

I use Mozbackup MozBackup - Backup tool for Firefox and Thunderbird

It creates a full backup including Bookmarks, addons etc. Literally everything.

It will recover Firefox even after a clean install.

Hope this helps

Yes the latest version of FF you can find here
Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB drives

I have been able to update as & when there is a update & I also use addon named FEBE to do monthly backup of all my config so anything goes wrong I always have a backup, since I use 3-4 computer in a day at different location its my basic need that all my browser data remains on portable usb drive.
