    Spam...From: me.....To: me???

Right now I am waiting to hear from Google on how a spammer can use my address to email me spam.
It shows up in my spam box.....From: me, is that a lucky accident or was it designed that way?

I'm thinking I have been Botted somehow, but I run daily scans, and nothing bad shows up on my machine.

Does anyone have insight on this?

Dont get alarmed. "From-spoofing" is very common. Here are a couple of links you can go through.

Why am I getting spam from myself?

Well it looks like there isn't much a user can do.

Even if governments enact legislation or ISP's require IP to IP
Borrowed from: Why am I getting spam from myself?
One day someone will invent a requirement that IP addresses are required to send email. That should take care of it - only being able to send emails from IP to IP.
The spammers will find a way.

I don't even think if the ISP's charge 1 or 2˘ for emails it will bother them.
Even at that rate the general public will howl.

With your other link it sounds like you can pay to have someone else filter all the junk, and only let legitimate emails through.

I did implement their one tip by making sure I didn't have my address in my contacts list.

Just hav'ta grin an bare it, and be ever vigilant.

This can also happen if your address was used to send spam, and the mail bounces. You'll get mail delivery failure emails. Obviously you never sent any, but you'll get Mailer Daemon failure "returns" because they came form your address, or so it seems anyway. That usually won't last long as they quickly move on to another spoofed address. A Guy

Mailer Daemon.... Its been a while since I've seen that term. If I remember correctly a few years back when I mis-typed an address, and it bounced back.
