Windows Live Mail - Message Rules, Folders not showing

I am trying to create a message rule in Windows Live Mail Desktop. For example, I want a rule to automatically place any email from Pay Pal, to a folder I created named Pay Pal. But when I chose the option "specified folder", only the Outbox shows up as a list of folder options to move this to.

Is this happening for anyone else? What could be the problem?

    Hi

Tools>message rules>mail>message is from specified account>move to specified folder

I think that you forgot to check where it is from a specified account.

I have wlm, if you give me step by step of what you are doing I know I can work it out for you.

When you use WLM, make sure the left pane is fully open showing all the accounts and all boxes (inbox, outbox, sent, etc)

When you make the new inbox for paypal make sure that it is part of the inbox group.

I think I found the issue. It was right in front of me. Apparently, you cant use rules for IMAP or HTTP e-mail accounts like Windows Live Hotmail. I have Hotmail. So I guess that is why it isnt showing any folders.

Thanks for your help though guys. It was my mistake for not seeing the Note on the New Mail Rule window.

    Another Windows Live Mail issue

(Note: I may have this problem because I am also using Hotmail); when I use craigslist mail-contact links Windows Live Mail opens and I am able to send the message-reply. But WLM then immediately closes. I want to be able to keep WLM open, but can find no way to do it. Any ideas appreciated. MG in Honolulu
    PS-I also get no folders.

    Welcome
I bet its from incompatible software, maybe the anti virus. Try a clean boot. If it works properly follow instructions to fix.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    Also
Make a full anti virus scan
Download and make a full scan with malwarebytes.
