Just a suggestion but have you tried google chrome? It loads quite rapidly without the need for any such tweaks.

Other than that sorry can't help as I don't use the others.

I think a lot of the load speed is actually coming from how much memory you have and your hard drive speed.

IE8 loads instantly for me. If you are running in 1 gig or even 2, adding more ram could speed a LOT of things up :)

Oh, also, if you have installed any addons there may be some that are slowing it down. IE really should popup within a half second or so unless somthing else is slowing it down...

Are you talking about loading the browser itself or a webpage on/with the browser. And how slow does it currently load.
Try IE (without add-ons) which you find in All Programs > Accessories > SystemTools. Maybe it is the add-ons that slow you down.

LOL - just saw fseal had the same idea a few seconds earlier.

I have quite a few add-on's but all of them are turned off. How can I delete them? The IE8 browser loads just over one second and then the web page, google, also takes just over another second to load. Total time 2.1 to 2.5 seconds. Where as firefox, all of it, loads in less than a second. I would use firefox or chrome but they are missing some very useful gadgets that I use....send link by email or send page by email, read mail tab. I haven't seen or figured out if I can add these tabs or if the other browsers have these options to add.

Have you tried REadyBoost? Have a spare USB 2.0 thumb drive?
