Originally just using it because Google Wave works best in it I have gradually moved away from Firefox and am now a default Chrome man.

Since they introduced all the addons and extensions I have everything I had in Firefox only noticeably faster.

Plus there are now loads of skins/themes so I have it looking very cool as well.

I'll definitely be taking a look at Kari's suggestion of Lunascape though. Never heard of that one before

I only have experience of IE, so can't comment on or compare with any other browser. However, what I will say is that whilst some browsers are faster than others at some things, they may not be for others. Another thing to take into consideration is user familiarity. At the end of the day, it is your choice. You choose whichever one(s) you feel most comfortable with, bearing in mind that the Protected Mode option is only available in IE (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Exactly, I prefer the minimalistic look rather than that bloated toolbar look.

    O.P
It's user opinion, you go with what you like and the only real way of finding out is through practical experience, so take them all for a spin for a week or two and trash the ones you don't like.

I have noticed Chrome is the fastest for me. I used Chrome for a long time, then switched to FF, and now the difference between Chrome and FF looks like Windows 7 compared to Windows 98.

IE8, Firefox 3.6, Chrome 5 Beta and Lunascape 6 open, all with same three tabs (SF, TEF and my iGoogle homepage).

This is what they use ATM:

IE8 runs fast enough and reliable for me. I occasionally dabble with Firefox, which sure isn't bad either. I tried chrome, and frankly, it just does not impress me, but that is strictly my personal preferrence. IE8 reacts crisply enough, and although Chrome is definitely quicker, it is also IMHO "quirkier"...not an acceptable trade off for me.

In terms of "safety?" That is a matter of operator vigilance more than any other factor...ALL browsers get hacked...though it does stand to reason that the lesser-used browsers will tend to be attacked less.

The last time that I got hacked, I was still running win 98SE, or possibly it was Win ME...so that goes back a good while now. Run a properly configured system, and pay a little attention, and safety should be a minor concern.
