    Lost emails Windows Live Mail

    Hi & HELP !!

My email provider inadvertantly suspended my a/c, I spoke with an "operative" who told me to delete the email account and re-enter all the details. In doing so I have lost all my emails sent and received. I have been into:
computer/OS(C)/users/neil/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook to restore the files via a right click and restore from backup, but I get the message:
Restore skipped restoring the file: C:\Users\Neil\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Storage Folders\Inbox\0F5A0748-00000001.eml to original location.

I have tried using the Restore facility but also to no avail......I am broken!!

    BTW O/S Windows 7

Any help is very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome,

What restore did you use. There are 3. The one that will definately work is system image. Hopefully, you have kept it up to date. If that does not work try backup and restore. I doubt if system restore will work in this scenario.

Are you using Outlook or Live mail? Did you switch as part of this?

Hi Guys, thanks for the posts.

I am using Windows Live Mail, I was on it prior to the problem.
My system image is about 2 months old, so is of no use to me unfortunately.
I understand System Restore will not replace deleted/lost files.
I tried digging to the "computer/OS(C)/users/neil/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook" and restore via RClick, but as I have said I get the following error message:Restore skipped restoring the file: C:\Users\Neil\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Storage Folders\Inbox\0F5A0748-00000001.eml to original location.

I have tried going into the HP Recovery partition and drilling down to "Windows Live Mail" and backing up from there but get a similar error message:Restore skipped restoring the file: C:\Users\Neil\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Backup\new\Mail.pat to original location.

    Buggered I think!

I have in the past done the same to reset the password etc being guided by our Orange friends in India when I was using Vista, but did not loose all my emails, so did not even think of having this problem this time.......is this a "hole" in 7 that needs attention?
