Forget Firefox 3.0, the End Is Near, Look to Firefox 3.6

Firefox 3.0 will not live to see its two-year anniversary while fully supported by Mozilla. This is because, at the end of this month, Firefox 3.0 will get its last security and stability update, ever. Plans are to stop refreshing the successor of v3.5 after the last update, for the open source browser version drops in March 2010. The end of support means that users of version 3.0 will be forced to upgrade to more recent releases of the browser, or be stuck with a release that no longer evolves and that will represent a security liability.

I've had no issues with 3.6. Both portable and regular version have been solid. Other than obvious instability or AddOns not working, my 2 litmus tests for Firefox are: 1) the little pop-down descriptions for tv shows work on TVGuide.com listings; 2) Silverlight videos work. Usually the nightly builds those 2 things are broken.
