its worth noting that you will need to reset your browser to start the install, i was wondering why mine hadnt patched itself but it did once I restarted, i know its standard FF policy to restart but i was being a bit thick

You mean that part where it says, "close all other applications before installing" ?
Don't feel bad....I have plenty of moments where I am the one that is thick.

actually that didnt come up. it downloaded it in the background and didnt tell me, (or i closed it without looking at it thinking it was the normal download box)
was wondering why it hadnt patched it, so i just thought "hmm maybe it needs a restart to start downloading" but when i restarted it had already downloaded it was just waiting to install

I hadn't even noticed that IETab didn't work anymore with FF 3.6. I haven't needed it though.....haven't been to any MS-only sites, I guess.

Oh, I see. I wasn't aware of the update until I saw this thread, so I manually updated then.

Just been prompted by FF to update -- done, and no problems at all with slowness here. Neither during browsing or on initial start-up, which i know many folk do complain about
