Yep, always a matter of personal preference. Firefox here with the excellent NoScript and Adblock Plus add-ons/. I personally don't want nothing to do with IE - in whichever incarnation.

Like manhunter, the only browser that I try to avoid, if possible is IE, but when it comes to which browser is best, Opera wins hands down.

Everyone has their own opinions, so the best browser is whichever one you like the most.

Yes, everyone does have an opinion. Unfortunately, an opinion is usually based on the understanding of the user, rather than the facts.

    +1
An opinion is almost automatically subjective. To have an objective opinion is almost impossible. Therefore, the best way to find the best browser is to try them, feel different designs and UI's.

My subjective opinion: I've lately fallen in love with Lunascape browser (Lunascape Web Browser - The World's First Hybrid Engine Browser), as can be read in my post here. It's incredibly fast and uses clearly less resources than for instance Firefox and Chrome.

And since there are no facts pertaining to the OP's needs, it's impossible to suggest any particular browser. As kari mentioned, any opinion is usually subjective, rather than objective.

The only fact is that there aren't aren't really any browsers to avoid. (except x64 based browsers due to Flash restrictions etc)

Personally, I prefer Opera as my primary, FF as my secondary. I am indifferent to IE and have not been able to find any compelling reason to like Chrome so far.

However my needs / preferences / tastes will differ to others, just as theirs differ to mine.
