IE8 freezes up at specific website

This JUST started happening to me like 2 weeks ago. Didnt give it much thought at the time. But EVERY time I go to www.tomshardware.com
by browser locks up and I get a msg that "a script on the page is causing internet explorer to.." Freeze and force a restart of IE. Never had an issue with their site before. I tried to disable the script but froze before I could. Anyone have a clue what this may be attributed to? I know I can always just "not go there", but since it naver happened before, I want to know WHY now, ya know??

    Dreem Warrior,

Have you tried clearing your cache? Or else run your Junk Cleaner or CCleaner. In IE 7 or 8, click Tools > Internet options > Security > Reset all Zones to Default level

You could also try running IE in No Add-ons Mode. Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) - If this fixes the issue, then go to Tools -> Manage Add-ons and enable the add-ons one by one to find which one was causing the problem.

Let me know if either of these help.

    Cheers,

Sweet. Yeah I'd go there ready with developer tools, trying to get the script, and couldnt.
Thanks for the heads up. Good to know.:)

    Try this.
In IE-Tools-Internet Options-Advanced tab, uncheck the box "Enable memory protection to mitigate online attacks" under "Security". Also, under "Browsing", uncheck "Disable Script debugging (IE)" and "Disable script debugging (others)".

I never had this problem, since I began using Windows 7 and IE 8, in Oct. A few weeks ago, I downloaded a windows update, for compatiblity, and now, I am having the problem. I uninstalled the upadate and now I am fine.
