    IE History

Ever since I updated my IE I now have a history in my drop down address bar, which never used to be there. After I delete my history, cookies, etc. in my internet options, this dropdown history is still there and won't delete. Does anyone know how to delete the dropdown history in the address bar all at once? I know i can click the red X that pops up when I put my cursor over the address but that will take forever. There has to be a faster way!

    Welcome!

Try also deleting Saved Form Information.

If that doesn't work, try CCleaner.

Thanks for the reply. Would saved information be the passwords setting? Thats the only one I didnt have checked and I did use CC Cleaner and it didn't delete it. Maybe there is a certain option I need to have checked that I don't?

You can try deleting the saved passwords, but I don't think that's the cause.

    Hello Dcgballa,

You should be able to delete the AutoComplete history by:
    • Open Internet Options
    • Click on Content tab
    • Click on Settings button for AutoComplete
    • Click on Delete AutoComplete history button.
    • Check History and click on Delete.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

I've got my options set as follows:

    IE History-capture.png IE History-capture1.png

I don't have any of the AutoComplete Settings enabled.

Umm, it seems that the AutoComplete history will not delete for me either. I just turned AutoComplete off to not have them though.

If Google is set as default search provider, try disabling Search Suggestions. Click on the down arrow on the right end of the Search Box, then click on "Manage Search providers", Select (highlight) Google then click on "Disable Suggestions".

Thanks! I figured it out. It was the autocomplete being on for my history. Once i unchecked that, it turned it off. Thanks again guys!
