Windows 7: IE HTTP 400 Bad Request

Well, its happening again. This time its with almost every site I go to. Flushing the DNS doesnt help. I reset the winsock and it cleared one error, but then they started happening on another page.

I have tried searching for answers else where, but they all tell me the same things I have been told here. Clear my cookies, flush the DNS, etc etc...

I cant reset the winsock every time this happens, I'd be rebooting all day!

Okay, so... I talked to an HP tech and after going through all the crap I tried and looking at things his only suggestions were these:

*System restore - shot that down because I just got my set up running normally again after fighting with a stupid menu bar alignment issue. Made my wacom tablet stop working and made norton disappear.

*When the error happens again, go into Programs and Features and uninstall up updates around the time I started having the issue (its like 5 security updates and 2 microsoft updates @_@), and see if that fixes it.

If not, go into the event manager and see if there are any critical errors happening.

I'm about ready to give up and just live with it....

Hi, ACWN.

Since malware removal is my "specialty" area, I am going to ask for someone else to take a look at this.

What anti-virus and anti-spyware programs are you running?

Also, go into Internet Options, click on connections tab > Lan settings and uncheck 'use a proxy server' if it's checked.

Looked there, nothing is checked.

Do you have "Windows Live OneCare Family Safety"? It may have come with Windows Live Messenger (if you have that app)

Not that I know of. I wouldnt have a reason for it as this is a personal computer used only by me. But I have also had Windows Live Messenger since I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 - back in Nov./Dec. of last year. This problem started happening in Feb./March when we got the new router.

My computer was absolutely fine, then right after the router was set up this started happening. Literally the next day.

Look in programs and features and see if 'live safty' is there ... uninstall it if it is.

Also, running Norton Internet Securities “Stealth Browsing Mode” causes this issue

What i think is some router settings is messed up. Who helped you in configuring it ?? Maybe you might need to re-configure it.
