    Homepage changed by ISP

    I recently changed from Pay as you go to a contract with 3 (ISP)

    Now when I open my browser it takes me to their homepage instead of the one I set.
    I asked in the shop and they say this is normal.

    I've checked the browser (Opera) settings and my home page is still set OK.

    Anyone else had a problem with this?

    It's not a big problem, of course.....I just close the tab as it's opening. It's annoying though.

    Never had that problem with DSL or Cable, but did with dial up. I know that dial up can do it, so I would image so could DSL and Cable.

    If your ISP automatically making your first access into a redirect to a particular page you may be able to get around it by pointing your web browser to an internal html file that redirects you to your real home page. I don't know if that'll work but maybe.
    Place the following text into Notepad:

    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Redirection</title>
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://www.homepage.com">
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>
    Redirecting homepage. If you're not redirected within a couple of seconds,
    click here:<br />
    <a href="http://www.homepage.com">Homepage</a>
    </p>
    </body>
    </html>

    Edit http://www.homepage.com in both locations to reflect your desired homepage. Save in notepad as all files and as homepage.html. Open in your web browser and tell the browser to use that as a home page.

    That's really great! Beat the b......s! .....or rather, you did.

    Your script works fine. If I close my browser and re-open, I get to my homepage (without going thru' the redirect page)....it just opens at the HP

    It doesn't work so well if I re-boot completely.......then I get their page, but closing the tab leaves my HP

    I gave you some well deserved 'rep' ........thanks.
