Have have used a program to hide my ip and when I did this it set m,e on a fake ip and now my INTERNET on slower and when I go to speedtest.net is shows that I am on the China server. Please HELP me how can I reset or get my old ip back or at least connect to my old server witch is South Africa: Cape Town
How are you connected to the internet? Wireless? Ethernet? Dialup? Do you have a router? I think a router with the hardware firewall set to stealth will protect you from your "friend".
Ethernet with a modem, at this modem I just want my internet to connect to the old server not China.
OK you uninstalled the software. Have you tried to reset your modem?

I have a Billon400G modem, my friend hack in to my pc once don't know how but I was told changing your IP can prevent that so I used Real IP hide and it set my ip to China witch is slow, so I said stop hiding and exit and installed it and restated my pc and after that i went to speedtest.net to see where I am and where my server is, so I saw i was in china.

Maybe there is someone here that is familiar with your modem; I am not. Is it feasible to call your IP and having a tech talk you through setting up your modem correctly? Just a thought.

Since you are concerned about being hacked, buy a router. The router's built in firewall will keep you from being hacked. This is worthwhile to do even if you have just one computer.

That router the OP has, does have a firewall, I can't really help him because I don't have any data on his connection, what was the program in question, how did he get to the state he's now (is it through VPN connection? Is it through dynamic gateway setup? I don't know). Does the OP connect to the modem through Ethernet cable? or USB cable? There's a lot of things he didn't provide. And the last thing... If it's the "friend" that hacked him, probably the so called "friend" already planted a backdoor in his system to be able to have his way with it...

He said the connection was via Ethernet. He said it is a modem and I certainly don't know. But apparently he reset the modem and everything is OK - as best I can tell from his last two posts.

I made that suggestion to him. I think resetting his modem must have solved the problem since he has not been back to us.
