    Hotmail - No inbox yet

    hi all,

I have configured my hotmail account in office outlook and was working fine. From last week, there was no email received. So manually logged into hotmail and voila got the below message,

    You don't have an inbox...yet
Sign up for Windows Live Hotmail and get a free, customizable inbox with lots of storage and great security.

Note: Whether you use Hotmail or not, you can always go to your contact list.

    WTF!!!

I tried all different browsers and all says the same. I tried to access their support page and when I click sign in, it says, service is down.

Googled, and many has this issue, saying their server is down or something. But will their server be down for more than a week???

Anybody else is having my problem???

How to contact them to know the reason?

    Please help!!!

Quick question, when you initially signed up for Hotmail, did you get to see your inbox at that moment? Because normally when you sign up, you get straight to your inbox soon as you fill out your information. If you didn't, that may mean you didn't finish signing up and it didn't commit it. Or have you had this e-mail for a while and this all of a sudden happened?

And they haven't been down at all, I use MSN Hotmail and in fact, my inbox just got upgraded yesterday and today I have been receiving e-mails.

I'd contact Microsoft support though if it was a free account, I don't know exactly how much support they would provide. I tried looking but couldn't really find any numbers for them. That's as far as I can suggest as I've never seen an issue like this before.

This looks like a good place to start: Hotmail Portal There is even a link for "Issues with New Windows Live Hotmail".

I've recently had issues with hotmail via browser in the last week. I could sign in, and go to my inbox. But no links to read emails, or go to other folders, or options worked. I used both Chrome and Firefox.
This happened with a few people I know at various places.
I periodically checked it, and it was still producing the same problem, so I left it for a few days.
It seems to be working today, so I'm pegging it to be a server thing. I dont know for sure, but Im not too fussed either.

Not much of a use in browsing their support forums. I have tried to login today after optimizing my IE to use with Hotmail and find the snip below. It shows, no unread messages and all options to access my inbox. But, if I click the inbox, I get the above message.

In your first post you said it thought you did not have an account. In your last post it says your account just has no unread emails. Try sending mail to yourself to see if the problem is fixed (except for missing emails).

Are you trying still to use it "through outlook"? How about testing Hotmail alone for sending and receiving to the Windows Live account you're logged in to with your browser and with outlook closed?
