    Windows 7 not keeping cookies

Got a brand new laptop with W7 installed, and I'm getting very frustrated. I use Firefox and for some reason it is not keeping my cookies installed. It will simply not save any website login information. I live alone, I do not take my laptop to work or in public. It is set as a home and secured network.

It will not keep any security cookies intact, whether for emails, for banking, Facebook login, anything. It's driving me insane! Any suggestions if there is some setting I'm missing??

    Try the following steps:

    1) In FF, delete all cookies (Tools-Options-Privacy-Cookies).

    2) Make sure that cookies are being accepted and are not deleted when Firefox closes. Go to Tools > Options > Privacy, in that dialog make sure that cookies are being accepted, then in the private data section make sure that Firefox is not set to delete cookies when Firefox closes. Also click on the Exceptions button in the cookies section to make sure cookies from those sites are not being blocked.

    3) The file that stores cookies may be corrupt. Navigate to the Profile folder, then rename cookies.sqlite to cookies.tmp. Restart FF.

    4) Make sure your security software is not blocking cookies or cleaning them on FF exit.

    5) Do you use CCleaner? That may be deleting the cookies, you'll need to set exceptions for the particular cookies you want to keep.

Yes, FF is set to accept, of course. At first, I had it set to clear my browsing history when FF closed, but I have cleared that. I have found the Exceptions button, and nothing was blocked. I have had to enter the URLs of my most common login sites, and entered them all to Allow specifically.

I don't think i'm using CCleaner, it doesn't sound familiar. Crossing fingers that this all works now.
