When you open Eudora it should tell you it is not currently your DEFAULT email program and would you like to make it so and you should be able to check it and make it the DEFAULT.

If this is not what is happening you need to do the following:

Go to Start > Control Panel.
In The Control Panel click on Network and Internet.
    Click on Internet Options.
In Internet Properties, click on the Programs tab.
Click on the set programs tab in the Internet programs section.
In the Set your default programs, click on Eudora to highlight it, and then click on Set this program as default.
If still having issues uninstall Eudora and reinstall it then it should be the default email client.

I used Eudora for many years but now use MS Outlook due to some features I have to use, best of luck.

In the Set your default programs, click on Eudora to highlight it, and then click on Set this program as default.

when I reach this point there is no eudora listed. so i need to reinstall eudora?

I did all this but still had the problem. Final step (for me) was to set the properties on eudora.exe to "run as administrator". BTW, I never had ths problem until I installed Office 2010 Pro. So another solution would probaly be to uninstall Outlook - if this works for you!
