Getting Outlook (or Windows Live Mail) to run scripts

    Hey guys

So apparently at least Outlook should have the ability to run scripts when it finds a certain keyword in incoming mail, but I cannot find the option for it? Some help please?

And may it be possible on WLM as well?

    Thanks alot!

In Outlook, you can do this by means of a rule.

Look under Tools > Rules and Alerts... > Email Rules tab, then click "New Rule..." and you will see a number of ready-made templates and also the opportunity to start from a blank rule.

If you take the blank rule option, for instance by choosing "Check messages when they arrive", you'll see that "with specific words in the body" is one thing you can ask Outlook to look out for.

You can tell Outlook to perform specific actions when it sees the word you specify, like deleting the message, or filing it in a particular folder, and so on. One of the options is for Outlook to run a script, which sounds like what you are looking for :)

The WLM message rules don't mention running scripts.
