    Irql_not_less_than_or_equal bsod

I have a brand new Dell Studio 15 running Windows 7 x64. I did a wipe and fresh install of Windows when it came in, along with installing all of the drivers.

I get the IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL BSOD only when I am in Windows and change the power source from AC to battery. It happens about 15 minutes after the change, and gives no indication ahead of time. If I shut Windows down and then switch power sources, everything seems to be fine.

I ran the Driver Verifier and it showed that all of the drivers were compatible. Attached are the files requested in a zip.

    Specs:
    Dell Studio 1558 Laptop
    Intel Core i7 720-QM 1.6Ghz
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
    4GB DDR3 RAM
    Fresh Install of Windows

Thanks in advance for the help!

Did you download your copy of win 7 or purchase it directly?

I purchased an OEM copy from NewEgg a few days earlier.

I'm thinking the problem has to do with your version of Windows 7. Apparently no symbols can be loaded for it.

Please use the Dell recovery discs and do a factory restore, and see if the problems disappear.

Maybe its just a bad disk? I'll see if I can ask my neighbor for his disk and do a clean install.

Could be the case. Hopefully that will solve the problem for you.

Ok. I wiped the system and used the Dell Recovery Disk to reinstall Windows (Ultimate x64). I still get the issue. After running the memory dump through Windbg, I see the following line at the end:

    Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!KeSynchronizeExecution+3d59 )
Some sites say that this is a hardware issue, rather than a simple driver issue?

Right now, I'm gonna run Memtest86+ on each individual stick of RAM to see if thats the issue.

From my experience that error usually means:
    1. Memory Error (either fauly RAM, or incorrect settings/timings)
    2. Bad Driver

That means nothing at all. ntkrnlmp.exe is the NT Kernel driver, a core Windows file. Guaranteed 100% to be bug-free.

Please enable driver verifier: Using Driver Verifier to identify issues with Drivers

    Hi -

If you have installed Daemon Tools again - uninstall it.

Look at RAM closely. Your prior OS install system logs show the Windows 7 memory test failed -
    Code:
    Event[33]:
    Log Name: Application
    Source: Windows Error Reporting
    Date: 2010-07-27T05:41:57.000
    Event ID: 1001
     Description:
    Fault bucket , type 0
    Event Name: MemDiagV1
    Response: Not available
    Cab Id: 0
    Problem signature:
    P1: 0
    P2: Manual
    P3: Immediate
    P4: MemTestError
    P5: Unknown
    P6: 0
    P7: 0
    P8: 0
    P9:
    P10:
Acronis may also be a problem here.

Follow Jonathan King's advice -- run the Driver Verifier.

    Regards. . .
