    Can't boot to Windows 7

Turned on computer this morning and normal sequence started. Then black screen and no blinking cursor. It didn't go any further and no system errors appeared. I even tapped the F8 key to see if I could boot up to the Safe mode, but didn't work.

I then used an Acronis bootable CD and once it started I selected "Windows" and Windows 7 started up with all of my icons, programs and connectivity. Working just fine.

I scanned for viruses. I ran Windows 7 repair CD.

Any ideas what could be interfering with the normal boot to Windows 7 from the hard drive?

    Thanks. Jim

Thanks for the suggestion. That is the CD I originally ran for repair. Didn't indicate it repaired anything and restart fail in the same way a startup fails.
